I was checking out the John Williams earlier as I currently own 5 of them. There is not much info on them but I can say from personal experience that they are some very nice shaving razors. When honing they feel a lot like the steel in the Swedish razors; hard metal that takes some time and patience to hone but well worth the effort when you shave with them.
The little bit of info I was able to obtain said they were good quality razors made from late 1800's to about the 1920's maybe 1930's. Some of the info was from people who own some of them and some info here:
