won a few hones
at an auction house today don't know much about them except the price was right on. I was bidding over the phone on the lot. No I just need to send them to Holli for testing, actually I have to go to Buffalo next week might drop them by. If anyone knows what type of hone any of them are that information would be very appreciated.

Thanked: 240Hard to tell from the picture, also I have almost no experience but I would be interested in seeing what they turn out to be. I have high expectations for the top middle, top right, and second to top right. Looks like a good score that will provide plenty of work to sort out.

I agree with the ones you pointed out will just have to wait for the mail. I think the ones on the left may be man-made who knows

Ugh... if we're going to lap them here I'll have to get a DMTXXC, or maybe a few sanding belts we can burn through.

Grits on plates should be good. You never know what you'll get, but I have some "oilstones" that are hard as nails and also quite dished. It really can be a nightmare, and that is a lot of stones; hence a lot of potential problems. It should be a fun afternoon, to say the least. I have a feeling one of us will work on the lapping while another works on something else. My workshop will be at your disposal.
