Default Too good to be true

I was the winning bidder on these items at auction on eBay on Sunday night 4 X ROLLS RAZOR IMPERIAL NO:2 (ONE BOXED) Original Instructions included | eBay

now the seller has e mailed me informing me that"sorry I have sold the items privately" the original buy now price was substantially more than the winning bid so I can see why the seller would be a bit put out but, hey 'a deal is a deal' is it not? She should have put a reserve on the lot.
Don't you just love people like this?

EDIT the link above is no longer working, I guess eBay have deleted it for some reason.

There isn't much you can do other than the negative feedback you left. Happens with buyers changing their mind at the end of the auction as well. It's just part of life. Better luck next time.

I'm pretty sure I would be livid. I'm sure that if you bought it and didn't pay, they would be taking "non-paying bidder" actions against you. There are similar protections for buyers -- check into "buyer protection" and file a complaint.

That sucks, happend to me on a blade a few weeks back, won the auction, paid the toke, guy emails the next day saying a terrible mistake has occured, his wife mailed the blade to the wrong address,B.S,I was livid.
he trys to PP back a refund but is not enough in his acct,he puts it on a card that takes days to get thru the PP system, took a week to get it back.
Lodged a complaint with ebay, left horrible feedback etc, that all you can do.
Am certain he sold the blade long before the auction ended.

Thanks for the comments guy's, to be fair this is the first negative experience I have had with eBay, it's funny though I usually pay instantly after winning a bid but I held off on this one, on reflection I'm glad I did not so much for the money involved as even with the shipping costs it's minor but more for the hassle you have to go through to get a refund. Having said that I'm fairly convinced this transaction was 'dodgy'.

It's part of ebay unfortunately. Just leave negative feedback to mark the seller as dishonest and start looking again.

This i a testament as to why (which you did) you should withold feedback until you're holding the item in your hand. I've had guys send me crappy messages because i didn't leave feedback the second they confirmed dispatch.

pixelfixed, although such stories of shipping items to wrong addresses sound bogus it does happen. An Ebay seller once sent me a tiny stone by mistake. It arrived a couple days after a stone I did buy from him. The tiny stone was sold for less than shipping it forward or back would cost. I'm sure the seller eventually realized he sent it to me but he didn't bother to contact me about it.

Only bad experience I've had with Ebay was the seller changing the shipping price seconds before the auction ended on a book, it was $4.00 shipping and $60.00 for the book. I went to pay it and noticed that the PP total was over 80.00, the auction page still said $4.00 shipping yet paypal was saying 20.00+ so I contacted the guy and turns out he thought I lived in germany, told him I lived in Florida and would prefer the 4bucks for shipping, he apologized and changed it back to $4.00. However I did purchased a 1000/6000 king stone on amazon for $30.00 and the guy shipped me a 6000 grit king instead and I didn't care to much about the mistake since it was still a bit of a bargin and amazon sucks when it comes to cases so I kept it.
