The Cardboard Razor Box
Hey all,
Quick question here... I sure see a lot of pictures on ebay of the old boxes the razors came in. Often they'll take better pictures of the boxes than the razor itself.
I, for one, don't give a dang (excuse my language) about the boxes and roll my eyes whenever I see someone listing a "box in great condition!" as a major selling point.
Do any of you use the boxes for either storage or display? Am I missing something?

If the box matches the razor and is in nice shape, I see that as a bonus. If not, I don't really care. I wouldn't pay extra for one in the correct box and in great shape.

Thanked: 66I think most of the bad photos of razors are intentional, and I agree with you about not giving a dang about box only eBay auctions especially beat up ones.
Now I might bid on a like new box if it matched a razor I have. But it better be in perfect shape.

Maybe sellers don't think anyone would be foolish enough to try and shave themselves with one and think the pretty box is the reason why one would buy the item and the razor is an added bonus

There are some folks who collect razor boxes.
Personally I like to keep them. They are part of the razor and it's history and one day when the boxes are worth more than the razors won't you be sorry you threw them all away?No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

I think it would be cool to setup a coffin exchange, I have roughly 20 mixed matched, as well as 20 homeless razors.....
I generally buy only the razors with coffins these days, I consider them as an investment. I can only assume it will make them more valuable in time. Also they are all stored in large ziploc bags.
