Default Anybody bid on this W&B?

Saw this listing, was only up for a day, but really cool:

Wade & Butcher Straight Razor | eBay

Couldn't believe the shape it was in.

It does look pretty good. If the seller had used key words like "Huge", "Chopper" or "Massive", it might have attracted more attention. There was no mention of blade width at all, except for the Barber's Use reference. I still can't figure out whether "huge" is bigger than "massive", but what do I know?

Looks like the one I just bought only mine has a slight crack in the scales.

Too bad I missed it. I'd love to get one of those big choppers.

This one is a "Barbers Rattler". And going on what I've read I put it at about 1850 ish. That's my hope anyway. It's kinda cool to have something that's over 150 years old and still going strong. I've cleaned it up a fair bit and the edge is ok but needs a bit of work. I'm going to have to replace the scales as well, but I figure it's the blade that counts :-)

Did you miss the listing, fail to bid on it or what? Would you have paid that price for it?

Just missed the listing. Considering the condition and what some of these go for, it would have been tempting. I just saw a similar one, only in much worse condition, go for $147.

I saw it and was bidding on it...just went a bit higher than I could afford to spend at the moment, sadly. I was really wanting to try a bigger blade. Oh well, maybe another day :P

I suppose it was a "bigger blade", but with some of them being shortened these days to remove defects the proportions make some blades appear wider than they actually are. It would have been helpful if the actual dimensions were given.
