Seriously $14.95 shipping????

$4.95 sounds a lot more reasonable, so all's well that ends well.

Though I'm not really an ebay buyer (or seller, for that matter) I do know what it's like to have a seller demand unreasonable shipping fees. Sometimes it's unavoidable if you really want your product, and they know that. One time I bought a nice razor from the SRP classifieds, and the seller demanded $20 for shipping after I paypal'd the full asking price. I agreed, thinking it was going to be priority and insured up the wazoo. More than 2 weeks later, my razor arrived in an ordinary cheap tiny bubble envelope, not tracked or insured. Not sure what my $20 paid for, but it wasn't for postage, that's for sure.

So I have been waiting and waiting around for my package. I decided to email the seller yesterday and again last night as there was no response. This morning I recieved an email stating that she had been on a deer hunt and forgot to mail my package. I am fuming....WTF I will avoid this chick like the plague next time. This is rediculous.

I think neg. feedback would be mandatory . Or at least neutral feedback . I think other buyers might like to be warned .

4.95 is not reasonable at all. This means that the package is not insured and not registered.
She should have been clear up front, but 15$ is totally reasonable for shipping if the sender is liable for delivery.

If people complain and demand cheaper shipping, they should state explicitly that they will accept the liability of shipping.
If they don't, then demanding 5$ shipping IS unreasonable.

I would agree with that if I had purchased a $600 one off custom or a 9/8 WB for barbers use etc (you get the idea), but we are talking about a DE that was produced by the millions and is not in the least uncommon! Now if it were in unopened condition, or near mint again I would agree, but for a $14 razor, paying 14 dollars to ship in the same country is silly. JMHO so take from it what you will.

I agree. But in that case, she should have had you confirm that you are willing to accept shipping liability.
Someone has to take the risk.

For shipping within US with first class they can buy insurance and delivery confirmation and still be at around the $5 mark.

In any case the seller has to figure out this part at the time they create the listing, not after it ends. Any increase in the shipping after the auction has ended is a violation of the ebay rules, and if it were me I'd file a complaint, and leave negative feedback.

Received the razor today...the only thing not lied about was the date of production 1958. She charged me almost 5 foer shipping, but the stamp was 1.88 and there was no insurance or signature required. She reused a bubble wrap Manila envelope. The razor had a broken blade stuck in it, nice surprise when I was opening it, and was covered in mildew (razor was described as mint 1958 with one blade and no box)
