Thread: Gauging my expectations....

I'm starting to find some very reasonably priced razors on eBay. Usually I'd someone has more than one on sale they will respond to questions about which ones they think are in better condition and could possibly be used. I recently picked up 2 nice razors that way from the same person for <10$ each. They picked from the 4 that they were selling and I was quite pleased. Nice razors to practice on they may actually be usable after min attention.

Oh they've got that whole negotiation thing beat here. All the antique stores are consignments. The person behind the counter isn't selling anything. The prices are there, the vendor is not. "Sorry sir, I'm not authorized to lower the price." is the standard response. So far it seems maybe I'm being unreasonable.

Thats the way it is here too. About 80% of the stores are consignment. I won't shop at those places as much because I like haggling.

i was in a pawn shop and spotted a really rough looking straight. they only had one.. they gentleman also said $15 and i countered with $10 cash... 1st guy says "who's the brand", 2nd guy replies "sheffield". they then proceeded to look up on their laptop something, probably ebay "countered" with $15, but not tax for cash. with the reason that these things normally get more.. I suggested it needed a lot of work and wasn't any great size "to write home about" to command anything... this razor was in crap shape... i was hoping that they would negotiated when i turned to leave, but they went back to doing nothing... and i left...

I'll go in another day see if they'll combine sale...
