Is the razor in the photo the “Best Quality” razor to be avoided according to this list?

Most straight razors that are "made in Germany" are good razors as long as they haven't been damaged by a buffer and the sorts. It will obviously need a new set of scales, but the blade appears to be a nice one. Auctions are always a risk, so I wouldn't spend too much on it...but price is quite relative: What is too high for me may be just fine for your budget. Good luck with your decision...

I wouldn't buy it, the blade seems quite deformed (look at how it reflects the light)...

looks good to me but if that crack at the rivet is all the way it probably will need a new set of scales. I'd only chance it if it were dirt cheap.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thank you all guys. Also the ones who sent me a pm.

I bought the razor and I am planning to rescale it as the scales are indeed dirty cheap as Jimmy said.

Regarding the presumed deformation I believe that it is a photo artifact because the reflection is not shown in other images of the seller that I didn’t post here. However Mauri you may be right, I will be sure only when I receive it.

Now this is an interesting observation. I'm thinking the reflection is like that because of the profile of the blade and not necessarily because it's warped. Any other thoughts on this?

Edit, I understand Slur noted in the above post this may be a photo artifact but it does look like a real reflection.
