Default normal shape or much honing?

    Auction in question.

    and this is the razor:

So is this a really really honed razor? (just trying to get a grip on such a things, sorry if this comes off as obvious to all of you )

and since I have all of your attention, this razor's top is all 'wobbly', do they get constructed that way or did something unspeakable happen to it?

    Harold,
With regard to the top razor, often when a straight gets damaged it can be cut down for use as a hobby knife (think X-acto knife). The steel is still good and it obviously can take a great edge. From the looks of it, I would guess that this is what was done to this razor. I doubt it is still suitable for shaving.

Regarding the second razor... if it is loose then the pin needs to be tightened. Do a search in the Restoration form and you will find instruction on how to do that.

If by "all wobbly" you mean "worked back", then yes they get made that way, and that one looks like it was.

See the bergischer lowe for a current-production example.
