What am I Missing???
I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but other than the name of this razor and some interesting scales, what exactly about this razor is worth $82? I say this because the blade looks like hell. It even looks from the 2nd pic that the spine has a huge fracture in it.
Now granted the scales are neat, but where else can they be used other than a similar make of razor?
Help me out here. What is going over my head?
Edit: Hey, how's about I add the link??

There is no link in your post.

I didn't notice a fracture in the blade but a wonderedge in good condition can fetch well over a hundred bucks. With some work that would probably make a good shaver so the price isn't really that bad. Duble Duck and Wonderedge are just one of those magical brands that seems to command much monetary respect. Are there other brands equally as good which can be had for far less? You bettcha.

Ducks are overpriced based on their performance. You already have one undervalued piece that will turn into a great shaver once you take it to the hones. There are others out there.

Oh I have no doubt that some razors fetch more money than others, and for various reasons. I know that the DD has a wonderful reputation. My confusion lies in does THAT particular razor deserve that price? When I look at the blade I don't think it's in that great shape.

They're not only viewed as great shavers but as collector's items too. That pushes up their value on 2 fronts.

All that razor needs is some metal polish and a hone. $82? perhaps a bit steep, but that's a nice Duck right there.
