Those are very special stones indeed. Surprised it didn't go for more.

I was hoping it would not be quite so special. I was the runner-up bidder

Those stones have gotten attention here and other places in recent months.
The prices have been creeping up ever since.

They are the new Charnley Forest
    Which was the new Coticule
    Which was the new Escher

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

It takes two to bid it up though, otherwise it would have sold for less than 100 EUR.

I personally put in a bid higher than I would have normally since it appeared that the stone had never been used.

Wonder if I would have had buyer's remorse if I had won at that price. Very possible since that is a whole lotta money... Will never know for sure.

Well look at it his way! now the winner has one, so the next one that come up might be yours, unless i overbid you
If one would come up here for sale for $400 would you buy it?

You just need to be patient and wait for the occasion and be patient and you can find some of them and remember to be patient.
