Hi All,
Just wondering what everyone thought about this set:

Its currently at roughly 80 dollars.

Thanked: 9This is a good brand english razors, cutlers to his majesty, afaik. I think 6/8, interesting grind. Should do well for heavy beard. I believe they would go for well over US $160, but maybe much more (I mention this just in case you thought you can get them cheap). $30 / razor is reasonable for these, and then there's the box... We'll see though
At least for me, it would be boring to have 8 of virtually the same razor. I want to have a relatively small rotation of different razors eventually. I have several from the same brand, but at least most are different grinds and sizes. The ones that repeat I plan to gradually pass along to others
Cheers
Ivo

Thanked: 9Kelly,
this plea does not work so well, actually. Very likely, even if no SRP guys bid at all, others will come in, and they might have high bids because they don't really know any better. Heck, I still don't know any better in many cases myself...
I am not bidding this, just trying to educate you a bit. Imagine this: I like this brand (I myself really do, having a blade dressed up in custom pink ivory right now, with stainless steel pins) and I want to get a set (I don't but this is an example). I have not seen such a set for several months. Now it comes along, and you -claim- it. That's all good, but to me this set might be worth $300. Then I don't bid, your top is 200, and somebody outside SRP snipes it for 202. I would, obviously, be unhappy. Also, if you are a newb, and I am an old timer (I am a newb myself) should the old timer not get something he has been wanting so that someone new can get it?
Just some food for thought. What I find here, is that people who really want something bid what their top is. If a member outbids you, you can ask him to pass it along to you. I have offered to pass things along several times, but nobody has taken me up on that - people are nice here and let yoou have what you win. I have wanted to ask somebody to pass me something, but have't mustered the temerity.
So here it is, time to stop
Cheers

Good point Ivo. I don't mind if someone outbids me if the razor is worth more cash to them. However, if I do come across a juicy piece, I don't advertise it on the forums until I win or the biddig goes above my price range.

ebay is simple: highest bidder wins, want something bad, bid high enough.

Thanked: 2I do think that some of those razors are very nice, but they can't be a set. It's a number (8) of very nice razors that someone has stored in an 8-razor case.
