I think this one is indeed forged. 3 pins on the scales, which might even turn out to be ivory. Even if they aren't I can live with them

John C Cockhill, Sheaffield. Interesting to see what I'll get.

The scales appear to be a bit thick for ivory, but the blade seems to be from the right time period, so you never know. Very nice looking piece.

No - I got it for a wining bid of 5.50 with a refund I got from a seller of another blade I received today. Come on, this CANNOT POSSIBLY COUNT!

    And I didn't have a forged one

Matt (I hope I remember the name correctly) - it does look too think for ivory to me too (knowing my other ivory) - but, again, for 5.50 it could be the ruler scales, for all I care. I'll get some customs for it if I like it

    Cheers

Some times you just gotta hope it works out. For $5, you picked up a nice razor that could be a good shaver. If that ain't worth 5 bucks, I don't know what is.

BTW, I really like the blade shape.

    And yes, it's Matt.

Just received it. Scales are pretty disgusting. They don't even fit well

The blade rocks! The most interesting / antique I have so far, quite heavy for its size - it's a bit weird variable slope wedge ... Totally deserving some custom horn scales. It's also a great deal as I have seen similar blades with good scales go much higher... But I don't plan to sell. The idea of shaving with something forged over 200 yrs ago is very appealing to me.
