An honest mistake on this auction?
There is no way this razor is in "excellent" condition, but the photos are very clear and clearly show multiple scratches on the metal surface. I am not sure if this was a mistake due to ignorance, or intentional so I wrote the seller a little note. I know this isnt a straight, I have been on the lookout for DE's for my wife and for Colleen lately.
Anyway FWIW here is my note:
As a courtesy, I wanted to let you know that the condition of this razor is good or very good at best due to the scratches in the metal. A razor with a rating of excellent will look unused or used very little upon close inspection, but due to the fact that has been used at all cannot be classified as mint. Therefore, even if the scratches can be buffed out or the metal can be sanded and restored to a like new finish, this razor is still not being sold in excellent condition.
Regards,
Josh

Great attempt at keeping the seller community honest. They should all be directed to Bill's guides and Tony H's auctions.

I don't know if I believe in honest ebay mistakes.
I was just complaining to someone yesterday that 'vintage' is not a synonym for "used", "old", or "beaten up".
