Default How to Order from Wacker

    Hello Everyone:
This may be a silly question, but I've never had to order from overseas before, and was wondering if someone can describe what they did/how to go about ordering from Wacker. What's involved/hidden costs, etc....

    Thanks,

    Joe

I don't know about hidden costs, etc.. I do know there is a slight communications problem due to limited English on Heir Wackers end, usually German on our end. It sometimes causes a little frustration. Also I know some have ordered from him and have waited quite a long time for their razors. He doesn't always have it in stock, so you have to wait until he gets around to making it. More than a little frustrating for some.

You can get his razors in the CONUS. Here's a link, but if you buy here I strongly recommend getting it unhoned and then send it to SRD or another member for honing, unless you're proficient at honing! I have several Wackers from here.

I think you're absolutely right about the communications issue. I was also thinking that shipping would be more as well as maybe some type of customs duty or something similar. Thanks.

I'm w/ SirStrop. I have a gaggle of them & love them, but my experience w/ overseas purchase is less than satisfying (not w/ Wacker). John has been very good to deal with - would do it again w/ enthusiam. I do agree that I'd have it honed elsewhere. For some reason the heel goes south on each one in about a week on each I've tried. Get the edge right, and you'll be a happy guy.

H.Wacker is frustrating to deal with and I'm sorry guys it's nothing to do with English vs German as I have emailed in German too and have been equally frustrated.

There is an online form to fill in with all the information relevant to the razor you want that you will see on their web site. Email it to them and you will get a PayPal invoice (or they send you their PayPal info can't remember 100%). If the razor is in stock to EU delivery is pretty swift to the US I'm not so sure.

The razors are really excellent shavers but the comms from Wacker is shocking........truly shocking, and if there is a problem with your purchase then your on your own. I would say that if you have a good vendor to act as a middle man over in the US then use them, that way he can have all the comms headaches and if there is a problem you have an easily contactable seller to resolve. All you need to do is part with the cash and think about all the great shaves your gunna have!
