Shipping Costs
I just won a $10 razor. I live in Toronto, the seller in Pennsylvania. I sent him a request for the billing invoice. He sent back TEN DOLLARS! Now, I realize that shipping is a way for some buyers to make a bit more money. He'll probably stick it in a padded envelope at best. But charging $10 for what I KNOW only costs about $2 is a rip off. I sent him a message pointing out that I thought $10 was a little high considering I've received many in the $2 to $4 range, and would he double check.
LOL. WHILE typing this he resent the invoice for $5.00. Much more reasonable. I guess I answered my own question which was... What suggestions do you have? The answer is as simple as indicate you think it's too high, please confirm.
It just goes to show you it never hurts to ask.
Does anyone want to hone my new razor for free? I'm just asking.

Dave,
That guy was trying to rip you off. That's why I always ask BEFORE I bid. In any case you handled it well. I had $10 shipping quotes WITHIN Canada. The seller wanted to ship it as a package to preserve the integrity of the coffin. I suggested mailing it in a padded envelope and the shipping costs dropped to $4.
As for that new razor, I'll help you get going, but if the Nortons arrive first, I'd recommend diving into it. You already have the basics down. Make sure you sterilize it before taking it to the hones.

My Nortons have arrived. I have them with me today. You'll see them when I swing by tonight. I can show you a couple other razors that have arrived in the last day or so. I'm out of control.

Dave the Nortons are pimp, but you'll REALLY need to ease off on the RAD. You're beginning to turn into Ivo or Jason One alleviating circumstance is that you've shown good judgement with your purchases. I especially love the Clauberg. Thanks for the loan of the AC
P.S. The Taylor is beginning to look like it went through a war-zone, but all but the worst of the pitting is gone.
