This doesn't seem like such a far fetched product to me. The barber that I went to from the time I was a kid until he died would give a simple neck and shoulder massage after the haircut and shave. When I was learning to hone from him, I asked a lot of questions about barbering. He told me that when he first learned the trade, all barbers gave massages like that. It was just part of the job.

Similar items were standard equipment at every barber shop. Most used a Wahl unit which was chrome plated and the barber put his hands through some wire loops and the thing vibrated his hand which he ran through your scalp to invigorate those folicules.
Remember, Double Duck made nothing. They were a barber and later beauty and later dog grooming supply outfit. They were retailers-wholesalers not manufacturers..No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
