Thanked: 4no paypal/ebay account.....thank God
Its a good thing I don't have an ebay or paypal account. I am a broke college student and don't have money to support true RAD......even though I have it.
This is why I am glad I don't have an account......I would be eating Ramen for the next 2 semesters
ANTIQUE SET 7 DAY CUT THROAT RAZORS IN LEATHER BOX | eBay
these look a lot like Ivory to me
SUPERB 19th.C BRASS BOUND COROMANDEL WOOD GENTLEMAN'S 7- DAY STRAIGHT RAZOR SET | eBay
and these, with one broken scale
LOUIS WALBER " 7 day razor set " Very Old | eBay
and then the one that I am drawn to the most...
Beautiful 7 Day Solingen Amboss Mann Rud Frauenzimmer Straight Razor Set | eBay
Also, I wouldn't buy anything without doing a lot of price research. And asking questions here
And these are only some of them that I like......I could post links of at least 5 more single razors that I want (if not more)
so anyways, since I am debating setting up an account.......any input on these sets?
(I realize they may be overprice, I don't know what 7 day sets run for....)

Take it from an old man ......forget ebay and 7 day sets, stick with the SRP classifieds. Buy 3 or 4 razors and remember ..... if you can't be satisfied with what you have ... you'll never be satisfied with what you get. If it gets bad enough the other shoe drops ..... which is ..... he who buys what he does not need will someday need what he cannot buy.

Just as a rule of thumb, some guys get grumpy when live links are posted...because there is a chance you just increased the prices of all five
7 day sets are the same as anything...worth is relative to what it is worth to you. I see perfectly good sets go from $250-$450. I see others with a more well known name go for $1000+

College is what Ramen was made for... you need to keep those Ramen making companies in business. Would love a nice 7 day set myself, maybe someday

Thanked: 30Fuel to learn is more important than a 7 day set. They will seem a lot less expensive when you are making a proper salary. Especially when a $50 vintage from the classifieds with care will probably shave your grandson through college.

Being an engineering student you will eventually be making good money and will be able to afford these razors at a future time. Another way to think about it though is that you should be making decent money soon enough so you might as well splurge on razors now since you'll be making money soon enough. Either way, get more razors!

Thanked: 480I have no rights to speak here, because I buy wayyyyy too many razors, but until you learn what razors you love shaving with BEST, wait on purchasing a 7 day set.
Its 7 days of the same razor every day. Try a wedge style blade, try a half hollow. Try a wide blade, try a narrow!
When you know what you like, THEN buy 7 of them!

Thanked: 194be thankful you don't have those accounts. They have gotten me in serious trouble over the last 3 years. I ordered anything and everything I wanted as a dumb teenager and I am paying for it hugely right now. My debt is down to about $4000.00 and it has taken soo long. Take the great advice here that is given. It comes from nothing but knowledge and having been through it. A 7 day set would be beautiful. but one razor will last you and others a lifetime if its maintained properly

Thanked: 433Stick with the classified here and antique stores, many ebay sellers aren't SR users and don't know what "shave ready" really means.
seven day sets are cool, but I've built an at least 50 day set from antique stores
