Default Opinions on a Vintage Shaving Set

I was wondering what your opinions were on this Vintage Shaving Set? I am considering making an offer, but I figured I would ask the straight shaving community their advice!

    Here is the link.

Vintage Shaving Set with Mug, Brush, 2 Straight Razors & Razor Hone | eBay

Let me know what you all think, thanks!

Looks nice, I'm not really familar with the razors but they're are going to need some work and unless you can do it yourself, the restoration and/or honing will add to your overall cost. IMO, I would offer maybe a little less than half of his asking price including shipping. What's the worse the seller can say?

I was thinking the same thing ReardenSteel. I am going to sleep on it before I make a decision.

Just a gut feeling, but after reading the description and seeing the price, I'd pass, but that's me! I know for me though it's easy to get caught up in the romance of the old things and then justify the flaws. I've regretted not being more pragmatic more than once!! Good Luck!!

Thanks for the advice Howard, I am leaning more toward passing on it than buying it.

I hope what I say isn't construed as vendor bashing .
I'm not bashing the vendor , I'm only giving MHO of the item .
If you read in the description , the hone is in 2 pieces (broken) , which is probably why only the box is shown . IMHO the mug looks useless , and I don't believe the brush is anything great either . All I see is 2 razors that need to be restored , a mediocre brush , a mug that looks more show than go , a broken mirror , a broken hone , and a beat up box made of I don't know what .

I am very glad you asked before buying. because in this case I really dont think its worth the cost they want. I have to second everything that was said here. The brush and mug really dont seem to be anything special. and the hone is broken for sure if its in two pieces. I think you would have much more hapiness with a vintage razor and a decent brush made by rooney or simpsons anyway, I wish you all the best with your purchases!

I wanted to thank all of you for the opinion, I decided to pass on it. It looked nicer at first glance than it really was.
