Joseph Rogers
I put a bid on this for no real reason - looks like a wedge (or partial wedge) with a nice notch and possibly a larger blade.
The scales are cracked but appear serviceable and the blade seems to be in decent shape, so I think its a good project razor for the price (especially if the blade is bigger than 5/8). I may send it out for a restoration if its worth it.
What can you guys tell me about this razor - and do you think I didn't pay too much?

I'd be surprized if it was plated - but I know its a gamble.
I'm certainly not an expert and if it turns out to be a POS, its a pretty cheap way to learn to be more careful - I just wanted a wedge and this looks like one that might be bigger than 5/8.
From the handle and stamping on the tang my guess is that its not plated, but only time will tell.

Thanked: 9I'd venture you got yourself a very nice razor. I don't like the crack but anyway I don't think you got a POS at all
Cheers

Yeah, me either, but at $15, its worth rescaling/refinishing if the blade's in good shape.
I also suspect that I can fill/repair the crack with epoxy or CA if I decide its not worth rescaling.
