    Default Jung No80

I picked a No.80 M Jung a while back and thought it was not real good .the shank and spine are blued and most of the blade was covered in hard grease, because of the bluing the color and texture of the grease and poor light I thought it was rust and chucked it in the draw as soon as I got it. I pulled it out today and to my surprise some thinners to remove the grease and a light polish the thing is perfect ,I dont think it has even been used. So I have started to hone it and I`m about half way there.
I would like to know if any one uses one of these in their rotation and what they think. It looks like it will make a good shaver as the blade looks very like a D/D in shape and thickness ,lets hope the steel is the same
    Kind regards Peter

The yellowheart scales that I made abit ago was fitted with a Jung's No.80 blade. It has since been shipped off to uksteve and should be arriving soon.

I didn't perform a shave test with it, but it was one of most hone friendly blades I've had. The blade took a nice even keen edge with relative ease, and, I managed to get it abit sharper than most other blades off the Norton 8k. A tad of stropping on the pasted paddle and it was popping hairs left, right and centre. It's initial condition was quite good, so that may have had something to do with it

So far, this is the only other time I've heard of them. Be sure to post some more results once you get it settled in

I had my first shave with the Jung today, the edge could just use a little more work ,but it was still a very good shave none the less. As I said before the 6/8 blade looks and behaves like a d/d therefore you you'd expect the razor to preform flawlessly, which it did, however comparing the two the d/d is a couple of poofteenths thinner hence somewhat louder when being used, but for all intents and purposes you cant tell the difference between the shaves .
This razor certainly was a nice surprise and is one that is definitely slotting into my rotation
    Kind regards Peter
