It looks to me like a money laundering scheme. Same as the fatboy that sold for $1200.00!

That's a piece of the Colossal Coticule and is actually worth more than he is asking. It's actually living stone and has so many garnets it sheds them like a dog sheds hair. You have to wipe them off each day. The stone actually changes itself to match the razor.
Now that's really special. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

mmmmmm ... this is interesting
if this is true, how would a person find such information
The other interesting thing is why on earth would somebody with such a rare item sell it on ebay
Surely it would be better sold in specialized listings with a licensed dealer of such items ..
answer by pm if you prefer

And the one thing that is special about it is not mentioned: it is a combo stone.
Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Thanked: 458I sent him a message on another auction, when he didn't have so many ridiculous prices up. He listed a recent manufacture norton translucent stone for $179, and I pointed him to a source of as many of them as you want (new from norton) for $79. He said he paid $100 for it at an auction or something, maybe he did. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and he removed it and said he was just going to keep it. It looks like he didn't deserve the benefit of the doubt.
It looks like from all of his following listings that he's just an idiot hoping to find other idiots who have money.
Maybe someone else can message him on a hone or two and let him know that at the very best, he has no concept of what he's selling. I shouldn't message people like that, but from time to time when I'm going through listings in a cynical mood and there's something with a straight-up cross reference to a retailer, I will do it.
By his history, he hasn't snagged anyone yet.

Mods - if this post is out of line r against policies please delete
I sent a message to this seller requesting information about the hone in question
His reply leaves me thinking What the ....
My message appear below
Dear zharsage,
That is one expensive hone mate, and I am not being an ass about this.
Please educate me and help my knowledge of such things.
I cannot afford to buy a home like this, however I really want to learn about it.
Can you explain the value of such a hone, and maybe some of its history that makes it so special? Maybe a link to a website with the information if that is possible?
I am a daily straight razor shaver and always look to be more educated in this craft.
Thank you for any assistance and information you can offer.
Best regards
Rick

Thanked: 458I saw he listed a small novaculite stone (something worth $20 max) for over $100 yesterday (it's not a hard black or translucent stone). It's not like I'm looking for his listings, but in my general search of barber stones and hones they come up.
I'd assume he's going to continue to get messages from people other than us as long as his listings continue to make no sense at all.
