Thanked: 2Won my first straight, how'd I do?
Just won my first straight, an I XL CEO Wostenholm for $26.50. Pics are from the seller - not the greatest but tell me what you think. Lost the Engels I'd bid on but put my bid on something else I rather have more anyway, we'll see how that one goes in a few days.

Got yourself a great deal. Would have been even with a less ornate piece as it's in a great shape based on the pics.

Thanked: 2Thanks guys, I was really hoping to hear something like that - or at least that I didn't buy a total POS. I've got a bid in on an 8/8 Koch & Schafer as well, it's plain blade but seems to be in good shape. The scales look like crap but I've got a couple different options in my box of stuff that'd really make it a beauty . After these two I'll have to hold off buying any more for a bit so I can focus on sending all my money to Tony Miller.

You won what looks to be quite a fine razor. I actually threw in a few bids for that one too, sorry bout that
I also had the engels "perfection" razors in my ebay watch list. I quite wanted one of those and the last one I saw come across ebay went for a pretty penny as well. I was going to bid, but I noticed that the selller had two auctions for the engels with the exact same pictures and description. I'm guessing he accidentally double posted it and didn't notice, but I just decided to err on the side of caution.

No problem at all, if you'd won it I'd just be looking for something else ... or trying to buy it from you . I noticed the same thing about the two Engels, I'd assumed he was selling two and was using the same pics for both - sort of hard to know what each would look like so I never increased my bid. Have you ever bought from that seller before (sportspot)? He's the one selling the Koch & Schafer I'm bidding on.
He's also got an Olympic INOX with what appears to be a gorgeous blade and possibly ivory scales to boot (though one is cracked at the pivot pin). I almost bid on that one as well with the idea of adding some burled scales I've got laying around. Figured I better focus on one at a time and I REALLY want that big K&S.
Oh yeah, I can already tell this is gonna get expensive.

I have never done business with him. I ebay msg'd him about a day in advance asking about shipping to Canada, and a reply was never received. He does have a 99.8% feedback rating though. Can't be all that bad.

Thanked: 2I emailed him about the Wostenholm and he sent me that detail pic of the scales a day or two later. Emailed him again about the K&S yesterday morning and he responded this afternoon. Takes a little longer than some folks but he does seem to respond. I'm guessing you'll get a response in the next day or so.

Edit: Thanks Joe, that's encouraging for sure. Didn't see your post until just now.Last edited by maclean3; 11-28-2006 at 03:15 AM. Reason: added comment.
