Put up for sale at $10, k...k bids $15 on 7/9, by the 15th it's worked it's way up to $55, then BAM, k...k jumps it to $418 and is outbid at $423.

I saw that. Made me think of a tobacco pipe collector friend of mine. If he was desperately wanting a pipe he might bid as much as 1k to be sure he would get it. When he told me this I just rolled my eyes thinking ..... what if there was another bidder out there with the same philosophy ?
