    Wow indeed!

Glad to know that a razor he values at $3,500 BIN will be shipped to you in a bubble envelope!

Even at 35$ it's a bit expensive, Fontenille is a very commun mark out here in France.
Nevertheless it's a nice French "rattler" made in Thiers at the end of the XIX century.
The registred number of the trade mark is : 134.

You know, for $3500 I'd at least expect a faux frameback not to be described as a frameback! At least that what it looks like to me, unless the light is playing a trick...

I have a couple of old (real!) framebacks kicking around. Maybe I should throw them up on the bay as well with crazy pricetags just to see what happens.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

There must be something really rare about that razor.

The seller is John West, a well known collector for over 40 years and he really knows his stuff. He provided a ton of knowledge to this forum in the early days.

    Have fun.

Yeah my guess is that the scales were ordered specially to commemorate a certain event (possibly involving a blimp ).
We always look at the blade and generally couldn't care less about the scales.
For collectors it is often the opposite, and if the scales are in good condition and they are very rare, I could see that price.
I'd never buy it of course, but I wouldn't want to buy commemorative buttons either, yet in 'pawn stars' they showed someone with a button from the inauguraion of George Washington, and it was worth many thousands of dollars.

Thanks Lynn - I was wondering about that as the seller has excellent feedback.

I think that blimp is inflated.
