Blimp razor... $3,500.00 ????
I saw that yesterday and wondered how soon it would be on a site. The blade didn't seem to be in mint condition.

Thanked: 1587Well this kind of thing is usually mostly about the scales, not the blade. Mostly.
People who buy razors to use (like most of us) do appreciate a nice rare scale, but we are more pragmatic than a scale collector. If we are going to pay 3.5K for a razor, we want it to be like shaving with God's stanley knife so we mainly worry about the kind of steel, it's condition, and so on. Based on that criteria you'd be pushing it to get 2%, or perhaps 3% if you were lucky, of that asking price IMHO.
But that is not what this razor is about. As Lynn said, the seller generally knows his stuff - you'll never get a bargain off him, but neither will you get ripped off. He is usually on the money, as it were, at least in my experience.
