Best of luck my friend. I've put a watch on nice razors that are early in the process with a winning bid of 20 bucks only to see that, in the end, it went for hundreds. Keep your fingers crossed and don't be surprised if it doesn't go for 5-10x's that much.

Sorrrrry, Tyler! PM me next time! 5 days to go! Geeeeze! I am living proof someone can live without a dubl duck! Hope that helps!
Cheer up! There's always another razor! I think the scales are fine on it. If yellowed out and pitted blade, stay away!
I had rather have a Henckels.

Thanked: 2591I do not like how the heel area looks like. It could be the light just bounces off weird but it looks like pitting marks that were buffed, in which case I'd want to see better pics before I go on to buy it.

Yeah , I wouldn't worry about not having a duck . I've managed to do without one , since I started using straight razors , a little over 5 years ago . Although , I've never shaved with a DD , I suspect they don't shave any better or worse , than any other vintage German made straight razor .

Hey Tyler, looks like the bidding is picking up as expected and there's still more than 4 days to go.... To be fair, I totally agree with some of the above comments from the senior members. Those DDs can get very pricey as collector pieces rather than because they are superior shavers. As a matter of fact, one of my better, smoother razor is a Henckels Friodur I got from the Classifieds section here for a fraction of the price of a wonderedge. An example of what collectibility does to the price, is that the seller I got my wonderedge from also had a DD 'reaper' razor (very rare) for sale and it had some rust, hone wear and a warped scale. frankly, to my eyes it was butt ugly but it went up to twice the price of mine.
Also, not that people here are not trustworthy or the likes, but we are all on SRP because we love straights (and as such many of us would not pass up bidding on a nice item if the opportunity arises), so posting a link to a live auction is never a good idea. As Sharptonn said, I would pm a mentor or senior member for advice instead if I were you.
Take care,
