Thanked: 0Coticule auctions on ebay?
Any words of wisdom on buying a Belgian Coticule off ebay? Seems like a guy from Poland has a supply of them, and a guy from KY doesn't give top views.

Thanked: 247Communicate in depth with your seller prior to the purchase. If you want to see a top view, then ask the seller to post a pic of it. If you aren't concerned about vintage vs. new Ardennes, then just go straight to the Ardennes website and order one from them. You can email them and tell them your purpose and what you want. They'll go to great efforts to get you the stone you'll be happy with. Additionally, there are usually coticules for sale in the Classifieds here, and you could always consider that option as well.

I have gotten a few good coticules on ebay but it takes some looking or you'll pay too much. As mentioned Ardennes will go through hoops to get what you want...You can ask for a layer you want, say it's going to be for razors, etc, and Maurice will get you what you need.

I rarely use my coticules. But i feel really good about my self for
buying good coticules off the ebay for 50 bucks or so.
I feel stupid for getting some not so good ones.
But where can i get coticules rated cause when you guys where making
fun of my price on a coticule. some guy added to the talk saying it
was worth more then what a was asking. IF if is what he said i would feel
stupid to undersell it. so i pulled my listings lol. Do i do so much enjoy using
that unmarked german rock that i failed many times to sell.
it make my razor shave the hair off my legs with out even stroping the edge.
i just go over the stone. with the razor. I feel i going to aways shave my
legs cause it make a girl at work have such a happly smile on her face.
I feel i have to do something to not just be a average looking guy. Cause she is so perfect and
i have a little bit fat. Though hopely some day near i have a flawless body.
but i don't think so first week of this diet i lost 13 pounds. but this week i lost 1 lb. at that
rate it would take 35 weeks to be done dieting. that a long time.

Most coticules I see on Ebay usually go for about vendor's prices in comparable sizes. However there are some sales of stashes (box, razors, brush, hone, etc) that sometimes have a coticule in there which is hardly visible. They tend to go a bit cheaper.
However, most coticules I've seen hardly ever stay under the radar with so many people hunting the few. But then again by that same logic: if stuff stays under the radar, I might not necessarily find it either.
If I could get a coticule cheap with blurry pictures, personally I would do it, as I believe coticules to be highly 'fixable' in terms of lapping and gluing. If I was in severe doubt whether or not the hone would be a coticule though, I would of course refrain from buying it, I'm not stupid.

Thanked: 458Did anyone see that monster 8x3 rough cut coticule that sold last week?
I know (from internet only) the seller who sold it, I wonder who bought it. I used to be the kind of person who would bid on something like that because it was unique. And then I realized I had a lot of unique stones or tools or whatever that weren't very good at what I intended to use them for.
It didn't look like any razor stone I've seen, and so far as I can tell, coticules suck on tools.
