Hrmph... Well, I don't know why people insist on just being jerks when you try to help them out, Bill. In all honesty, I thought your first message to him was polite and respectful and informative.
Maybe he thought you were just trying to bargain him down on the razor somehow? Of course, he doesn't know you have hundreds. :P
