    Default Got my first one

Well I figured that at some point I would be getting one off the bay...just so happens I am looking around and this one pops up that is ending in like 2 minutes...I log in place the bid and I won it.

looks pretty good from the pictures. Now when I get it I will see what shape it really is in but..for the price I don't think it is a terrible start.

Congrats! Nice snag! Been looking for one of those for a while but none have been in that good condition. The ones I've seen are worn out, narrow bladed rust buckets. You will like that W&B shave.....enjoy!

You did just fine by what I can see. Now you need to pick a pro honer to send it to so you can enjoy that razor. I'm pleased to see that you can still purchase a decent razor for a decent price...last time I messed around the bay razors were getting too dang high...so I quit looking there.

I dip mine in oil at least once a week so it don't get worst.
but i often wonder what is the truely best way to clean rust off.
Though i have notice their is a alot of rust on the bottom of the oil container that i
    dip the blade into.
I wonder can one soak it in oil to get the rust to come off.
over years cause i hate the idea of simply sanding it away.

    Suile,
That razor you are showing a pic of is in really rough shape. You need to get that active rust off there & as soon as possible. That razor needs de-pinned and cleaned up/restored. You aren't "hurting" the blade by dipping it in oil, but more than likely the oil isn't getting to the steel where the rust is actively eating at. Clean off that active rust with a single edge razor blade, please...

It hurt me to see a razor being eaten alive...

Is that how people clean off the rust i will try that.
I don't like the clips of people using power tools to get rust off.
It's really nice steel which is worth the work to get to a point where i can shave with it.
