I imagine that is relatively recently made item for use as a "patch knife" by the "primitive" ( period correct ) muzzle loading crowd.
A patch knife is/was used to trim the cloth patch after the ball was started into the barrel.

The handle is too close to the blade, no room for your fingers. I would drop it for sure.

Yea, it looks like it has no hollow.. More like a knife.. i don't think you could get the razor edge on it.

I think it looks kind of interesting. It's not clear to me whether holding it would be awkward or not. Still .......
