Gutted
I'm a bit disappointed, I narrowly missed this razor last night when I mis-guessed my last minute snipe bid. I'd have paid more than it went for but it was only £25 with 30 seconds to go.
A NOS Puma Gold sold by Penhaligons.

maybe I'm not understanding it correctly but isn't the purpose of sniping to enter the highest amount you're willing to part with for said item at the last moment? If you got outbid, then well, that's life.
Just don't let human nature take hold of you and 'try to outbid those other guys for $5' because that's what the others are trying(and you'll always have that one SOB bidding 5.5 ) and why people started sniping.

Thats true Harold. It happened to me enough times and then I started sniping. This way at least you ,first don't get caught up in the bidding and pay too much and second if you lose you can truly say to yourself that is what it was worth "to me"

Thanked: 9Iwan,
what can I say - didn't you see my post about these - in this condition it's probably worth 500 or more right now. Pappabull sold one in worse state for 405... If I had seen it I would have sniped at least $200, and that's just because I don't really want this razor that much...
Cheers (you need them, after this miss)

Yeah I understand about how the whole ebay/sniping things works, and it's my own fault for not bidding higher. The auction didn't have a very obvious title so I wrongly assumed that nobody would be watching it, and put a lower amount on than I was prepared to pay.
I wasn't looking to sell it and make money either, it just looked like a perfect brand new example of a very good razor. Oh well, there's always the next one....

just out of curiosity, what do you use to snipe?

I use an opensource tool(jbidwatcher) to do it. that way I can check the source if I need to/suspect it of fraud.
