Default the crack is almost as tall as the razor

Wade and Butcher "for Barber Use" Vintage Straight Razor | eBay

I have to say that before I started reading the Ebay 101 thread i turned up my nose abit and said to myself " i have all of these cool razors already. What do i need to read a thread like this for. I'm a newb and i seem to be doing fine on my own." What a suckie attitude i have sometimes... lol so after reading the first 5 to 10 pages my eyes got alot sharper. Then i had an opportunity to talk to Wullie on the phone as we went over some of our favorite razors on Ebay at the time. Wullie proceeded to break down the goods and the bads of each razor including hone wear, edge condition and 1 million other things that i would have never seen prior to our conversation. Then i came upon this piece of s-hiny h-onable i-nteresting t-idbit. Check out the crack in the 3rd or 4th pic.

No mention of it anywhere in the listing. Maybe the owner doesnt know. I might give them the benefit of the doubt.

I feel like i have the "thousand yard stare" now.

Thanks SRP, Wullie and Platoon or Full Metal Jacket..which ever movie the reference came from..lol

    Cheetah Meat,

Good eye I wish we could warn the bidders it is up over $40 already, thats sad. The seller does declare there is a small crack, "VERY RARE!!- RAZOR HAS NORMAL WARE OF A VINTAGE ITEM, SMALL CRACK AND CHIP, ANY IMPERFECTIONS ARE VISIBLE IN PHOTOS, SEE PHOTOGRAPHS. BLADE IS APPROXIMATELY ONE INCH WIDE- OWNER BELIEVES HANDLE IS POSSIBLY MADE OF BONE- GREAT COLLECTORS PIECE WITH GREAT RESALE VALUE. RAZOR IS VALUED AT OVER $150.00"

The small crack part and the part about the imperfections are visible in photos, should be enough for most people to avoid this razor. But I guess the bidders are not so savvy or are not members who read the eBay 101 thread.
    Aloha,

    ED

I too saw this razor------- and this crack. But so did the bidders. it has 13 hrs left and the guy is gonna end up selling it for $60-$75 tops..... unless somebody DOSN'T notice the crack---- then they will pay $76.50. Actual cash value imo ----- idk, cuz i wouldnt buy it.

A crack in a heavy blade such as that may not harm it or the shaver, but I still wouldnt touch it.
