Thanked: 116No one wants to use stainless for shaving??
NEW SOLINGEN GERMAN RAZOR | eBay
The seller claims that 'No one wants to use a stainless for shaving as they are extremely hard to sharpen'.
Anything to talk up the junk you're selling.

Thanked: 375That's to bad "no one wants to use stainless for shaving". I have an I. Oxley 5/8", Dovo Prima stainless 5/8", and a Hess 44 5/8" ....they are harder to sharpen but seem to retain an edge very well and are also my favorites to use.

Thanked: 375Nice!, I don't seem to come across to many bigger blades around here, especially stainless.

Thanked: 116The two you have are excellent specimens indeed! Unless you really like a bigger blade there's no point to going bigger! I'd love to see a pic of those blades, especially the HESS; every one i've seen is gorgeous.

Hess 44 Stainless! And, yes getting a frown out was a bit of work! Fabulous shaver and well repaid the work involved!

Thanked: 375Hess 44, in as found condition, a light cleaning and a little honing, at work right now and this is the only one I could find here.
The I. Oxley has a smile with the original horn scales. I'll dig up some pics when I get home. The Dovo, is newer with wood scales, and some goldwash on the spine and face.
