    i admit i have no idea , my guess is it almost reminds of something like a curling iron type thing minus the roller ....

    it almost looks like the piece comes apart by the toe area ( i guess ud call it that on this thing ..lol) and being a round rod i thought something would slide on there ..lol...

    see they were crimping hair before it got popular in the 80's ..lol

    I think i seen an old thread with one of these in it and it had a blade in it. The wavy metal thing is a guard the flipped up. I'll have to try and find the thread.

    +1 It's basically a closed comb straight razor. If memory serves, they were marketed as safety razors at the time.

    That is a Curley safety razor. It is suppose to have a blade that is able to be resharpen like a regular straight.

    Dang it... I had bid on something just like this with a thinning blade if I remember right. DD of course and brand new looking. I let it go for 12 bucks. 32 shipping LOL
