Thanked: 0Wade & Butcher
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...5581&rd=1&rd=1
I don't know if that link will work or not. But I just bought this off ebay. Though it was pretty foolish of me in many ways as it meets none of my current needs. I had to buy it. The engraving on it made me chuckle and it seemed like a decent deal depending on the condition it arrives in "Gambling there "
If the link doesn't work. It's a Wade and Butcher with engraved blade that reads "YOU LATHER WELL, I'LL SHAVE WELL" It's a squared point in about a 6/8 size or so it appears to my eye. Near as I can tell it looks like it's in decent shape, the description was non-existant at best. $25.72 shipped, so we will see.

You got yourself a good deal.. I just picked up a plainer celluloid-scaled W&B for $15CDN at the antique market together with the $5 Gillette Tech for my buddy. The scales on yours should polish up very nicely and look P*I*M*P. Mine will need a new set, so all in all I think you did well unless there are defects we can't see on the pic.

Thanked: 0I sniped in a bid at the end of that auction. I was waiting to find out I had sniped it from one of you all. So far it doesn't seem like I have to feel guilty. As for the razor as a whole I read on here they made nice razors and the engraved note on the side was pretty funny so I thought it would turn out pretty well. I'll post a few pics once I get it in hand and cleaned up. Which might be a month considering the seller doesn't take paypal so it's going to be the slow methods.

Thanked: 4942Killer Deal!!! I have a near mint one of these and it is a wonderful shaver. It is a wedge though, so take that into consideration when honing. The whiskers run away when you get there. This is a beautiful razor.

Thanked: 0Ok, I'm totally firing blind here, a wedge? I was under the mistaken impression a wedge would have been a non-hollow ground blade. To me it appears as though that razor was a hollow ground blade.
And how will honing a wedge differ? I do think this baby will be sitting on a self next to my TI till I figure out what in sam hill I'm doing.

Stacy, Lynn is saying that his W&B is a wedge, while yours appears to be a hollow. When honing wedges, you have to remove more metal (taping the spine is definitely a good idea). That's why I give them extra 1k grit sandpaper lovin' before going to the Norton.
