Think I snagged a good deal here...
Just sniped this tonight:

I'm thinking these won't be newbie-friendly blades. They look like they'll be fun to work on. Maybe I'll just have to keep one or two of them.

So you're the one lol. I put in a semi-serious bid of 20ish but I wasn't too sorry to see the other guy outbid me and you to snipe him. I recommend giving the middle one away to a newb. The other two will make either great rotation shavers or re-sale pieces.

Ilija,
The seller had two bidders asking if he would ship to Canada, and I was wondering if I was bidding against you and X. I guessed right.

E-bay is all about who's willing to pay more. I don't really mind it if someone bids against me. Since I got all the razors I really need for a personal rotation, sometimes I'll put in a real final bid fairly early on and won't lament the fact that someone outbid me.. Most of the razors I bid on these days will get sold anyways.

I know what you mean. I've just started using Gixen.com, which is cool because I can just set a bid and forget about it. When I was bidding early it seemed like the razors would always go for $.50 more than what I bid--very annoying. This way I just pay what I want to pay and no more.

Well, Ilija, I hate to rub it in, but these razors came today... I'm quite pleased. They're all in pretty good shape. The W&B, properly listed, probably would have gone for more than $50. The scales are horn and in pretty good shape, and the blade had only a few small rust spots--most of the discoloration was just water staining. It may go to Joe for a regrind later...
The other big Sheffield is nearly a wedge, and it was almost shave-ready. It had a nice bevel and shaved arm hair, so it won't be hard to get it up to par.
I think I'll sell the third razor to a newbie and keep the others. They'd make great restoration projects someday.
No more gloating, I promise.
