Thanked: 1184I have seen these things advertised as razors, stone age knives, blood letting tools, and probably 3 more I can't think of right now. And they seem to be coming from all over the globe. I wanted one when I first saw it but now......I like the picture.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

The last picture says it all. This thing is a two man operation! If you try it yourself you could lose an ear or cheek, heck maybe even an arm!
I shave because I want to, not because I have to!

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

There were a few threads about those "Chinese ancient razors" before, the conclusion was that 90% of it is a fraud...the metal is left outside on purpose to get rusty and tarnished for that "early" look. Do you really think that for less than $30 you can find so many early eras razors? I acquired one myself before I knew it, but still, nice item to have IMO.
Speaking of ancient razors, what do you guys think about this one:

Looks more genuine to me than most of its kind, also the price

This type razors are very often on eBay. Some two years back I bought one. Was very much surprised? it does not look like a fake. There is around 1.5 bln people live in China. Even if only one out of a million keep his grangranfather's razor, this amount is enough to supply market for years.

I have seen them in a very good quality collection and some of them were real according to the person writing the book.
He even had one in the original Chinese character printed box from a market! If the shaft is spindle turned like banister spindles, they may come from India also.
Too big for my face!
