    Default Red Imp strop

Just won this. I hope it's in usable condition. If not - can't lose that bad - I figure if anything I'll list it as a Red Imp strop and it would fetch at least as much.

    Cheers

About a year and a half ago I won an Eboy auction for an actual red Imp Strop. The picture was terrible and the strop name was so misspelled it didn't even look like red imp. There were almost no bidders and I got it for about $20 with shipping. It turned out to be a NOS Red Imp with NOS red Imp canvas too. I don't use it much but it sure is pretty.

So is it a good one or not?

This one: $12.50 original price - seems pretty expensive, for its time, so I thought it's a high end strop. I think normal strops were under 6 bucks or so... We'll see, of course - when I get it

Its hard to tell from the picture. You'll have to see when you get it. If its not dried out or have any major cuts or nicks in it I'd say you did OK.

Bigspendur (sorry - I don't know your name) I was asking if yours was good

Mine - yes: who knows... Not a big outlay so I was willing to take the risk. Honestly, I think it has to be really, really bad to make it unusable (after a fair amount of restoration work, of course)

Mine's a great strop. Its factory mint but really when it comes down to it a strop is a strop as long as its in good physical condition. I have about a dozen of them some new some very old and they all do the same thing. I don't notice any real differences unless they are pasted of course. I know many will not agree with that statement but that's what I find.
