Thanked: 13Why so much?
Does anyone know why this is going for so much?

Doesn't seem anything special to me. Is there something I'm missing here?

It might be a mint razor or NOS.

It's new old stock or new. It's in the listing.

Thanked: 0Chances are the description has a typo or the seller couldn't make out the text on the tang properly. My guess is that this is a George Butler & Co. razor. They manufactured straights between 1848 and 1926 in Sheffeild (source: http://www.uniclectica.com/misc/manuf.html ) That would make it a like-new bit of history and thus of some value to collectors. Of course, the real question would be, "How does it shave?"
