Thanked: 0Solingen Trumpfmann 45A
Can someone please tell me something about this razor? Can it be that old (1873)? I know that it's not in a good shape, but I have an opportunity to buy one. I searched through the internet, but with no luck. Please help.

I don't know anything about the blade, but the scales are from a Shultze razor.

I rest my case.

I don't think the date is from when it was made. The pattern on the blade might be to commemorate some event in 1873.

Thanked: 1"Wien" is German for Vienna. This was probably a commemorative blade celebrating the Weltausstellung 1873 Wien which was the large World Exposition in 1873. Thus, the blade could have been created in 1873 or possibly a ten or twenty year (or longer) anniversary of the exposition.

Thanked: 0It could be to celebrate it's 20-eth anniversary because it comes with a box from 1902, so it could have been bought around that date. do you think it is worth 36 dollars with whis box?:

That box is quite something! I would forget about the razor and take the box. Quite a bit of skilled work went into the box.
