Thanked: 5Henckels Friodur 72-V 1/4 Hollow + a few others
Hi guys, I hope advertising my E-bay sales here isn't in bad taste- I know it's allowed by the rules, but it feels a little tacky. Anyway, I listed a Henckels Friodur 72-V which was their 1/4 hollow model, a Friodur 78 1/2 with a nice checkered goldwash, and a normal Friodur 72 1/2.

J A Henckels Friodur 78 1 2 INOX Straight Razor Stunning Goldwash 5 8 | eBay
J A Henckels Friodur 72 1 2 Rostfrei INOX Stainless Straight Razor Half Hollow | eBay
I didn't really want to sell, but, I needs the funds for a business venture. Besides my friodur 17 1/2 has stolen my heart, so these guys weren't getting much love.
Thanks,

Any chance of opening the bidding up to people outside the United States
Nice razors like these should get some good bids from other countries

Yes I have found that really frustrating that sellers only sell CONUS there have been a number of sweet razors i have had a hankering for but couldn't bid on. Also, don't start me on the ridiculous prices they quote for shipping.

Keep in mind that in ebay's view you are responsible for delivering the item to the buyer in the condition it was described - if you have no proof it was delivered you will lose your money during a dispute. International shipping with proof of delivery, and insurance in case it gets lost or damaged is fairly expensive. Most buyers would balk at paying that cost, so its in your interest to make sure it's stated clearly up front, or you may be in for a surprise.
See my comment above - the way ebay/paypal distributes the liability I am more than happy to send stuff overseas the cheapest way the buyer wants as long as they forfeit their ability to file a dispute on the funds should anything happen with that risky method they chose.
What is not acceptable is for the buyer to shift the risk over to me, while taking all the benefit from the reduced shipping cost. USA is a big country, so excluding international bidders is not all that damaging to the sales.Last edited by gugi; 07-11-2013 at 10:44 PM.

Thanked: 5Like Gugi said, in order to cover my behind in case the item is lost, or in case shipping just takes too long (stuck in customs, etc) I have to ship via USPS Priority international- USPS first class international does not give me tracking, delivery confirmation, or insurance. Regardless of an item being lost, an unscrupulous buyer could receive the item, claim that they didn't, and E-bay would force me to refund the money. What this means is that envelopes and small flat rate boxes cost $24 + insurance (for USPS priority), and everything larger is $40+. I find this to be just as frustrating as you do, as in the past I have lost a number of potential overseas buyers (I resell clothes on ebay).
Thanks, that's good advice, I'll edit in my shipping methods and costs.
