Thanked: 0honing review
Hi,
I'm a newbie straight razor shaver and I am still focusing on shaving. I have not gotten to the point where i want to learn about honing. So I have tried a couple different honing services. I have to say that howard schechtor at the perfect edge just did an excellent job on several razors i have purchased. some were ebay crap others were nicer razors. I found him to be reasonably priced, quick to turn around my razors. I sent him 9! and the edge is the sharpest i have ever seen. they shaved wonderfully because they were so nice and sharp.
Hope this helps,
Keoki

I just met with Howard from the perfect edge last week. I brought him 2 razors and asked if I could 'watch and learn'. He more than happily obliged and I got an outstanding hands on tutorial from someone that really knows his stuff!! We settled on one razor (FWE special) and went through the entire progression from shapton 1k to 30k. He took the time to explain everything, show me what was going on under magnification and at the end gave a little tour All in all it was a fantastic learning experience that didn't cost a whole lot and I have the sharpest razor I have ever felt on my face (without the 'harshness' that my own honing seems to bring). Thanks Howard!!

Thanked: 0I was actually thinking of doing the same thing next time I'm in the neighborhood. Good to know that he will do that. There's nothing like watching somebody actually do it. I think it speeds up the learning process alot.
