    Default Straights on Long Island???

I plan on doing most if not all of my purchasing online, however, I was curious if anybody knows of any shops (i.e., barber supply stores, retailers, etc.) that might sell razors (new or vintage) in the New York area? I am specifically coming from Long Island, but would be willing to travel. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Lee's is in Jerico but I don't know if there is a retail store. You can give him a call. All other stores I know are in the city.

Hi Keith, I've been to several stores in Manhattan, but I don't recall seeing any straights - except at AOS. All of the straights I've ever seen in brick and mortar stores (in NY and other places) have been heavily marked up compared to what you could find on-line. There's a recent thread on stores in NY - I think its here in the Newbies Corner- that lists several of the "shaving" stores in the city. Please let us know if you find anything interesting.

The New York Shaving Company? This is a good place to try.

I have been here in LI for 56 years and in the past two and a half have tried to clean out every flea market and old barber shop and antique store I could fine,so If I missed any, good luck hunting....I've gotten about twenty really great blades, and maybe 6-8 good ones.

I live in Northern NJ. I have hosted several meet ups and have a few members travel over from LI. They are usually on a weekend day and start in the morning and run until mid afternoon. It is a great way to meet some member and learn some skills. We meet about 1/2 mile from the George Washington Bridge, so depending where you live, could be 30-90 minutes drive.

It goes without saying you are welcome to attend.
