    Default My new kit.

Ok, I've not even used this and have a question already!
How on earth do I strop this blade when it's nearly twice the width of the strop???
This was sold as a kit so I was expecting it to be easy to use right "out of the box" but it's, in my opinion, not! :/

A word of caution: Depending on where did you acquire this razor from, there is a good chance it is not shave ready even after stropping. Now, if you acquired it from a reliable source that guarantees a shave-ready product, it might be prudent to avoid stropping it altogether before you use it for the first time.

It was a highly recommended shop so I shall leave well alone before my first stroke with this blade and see how it should feel before I almost undoubtedly ruin my new blade with a poor technique!

Right, I used the blade and it was......OK.

Pulled a little but it was my first ever try with a straight so I expect more technique than equipment. Will try again in a couple of days.

I know of several highly recommended shops that don't sell shave ready, which was the one you purchased from? Just so those here who know can say if it's likely shave ready or not. Pulling can be technique issue, but it can also be caused by a non save ready razor.

I know a lot of them don't come shave ready, maybe I was naive in thinking this one would.
If it's any help, it's a Dovo straight.
It was from a UK company called Invisible Edge.

I know of them, but I'm not in the UK, and haven't used them. However, and don't quote me, I believe they sell shave ready. Someone with more knowledge can confirm that though.
