I don't see any attachment or embedded vid. Am I missing something?
its there now ha sorry
Your form looks good, but I suspect you're using too much pressure. It's always hard to tell from videos though. You should be using basically the weight of the razor alone, with only enough pressure to keep the razor contacting the strop.
What I always do is run the freshly stropped razor over my arm hair, and if it pops hair without touching skin it is good 9/10 times. I suppose it's a version of the dreaded HHT :)
Oh, and I typically do 20 laps on material, 60 on leather (for full hollow razors like your Dovo).
Seems to be ok, just take your time and don't roll the edge
alright thanks very much guys, for the record that wasnt a full stropping i did more before my shave which seemed to go well. I really need to order preshave oil new soap and aftershave milk though, plenty of dryness.
Everyone says you will dull your razor as you learn to strop. I took that as a challenge. Been a year and haven't done it yet.
:popcorn::popcorn:
Nice job on the video. Thank you for your service. How many times are you doing the leather side?
Looked good to me. As has been said before pressure would be your only concern. I also have a full hollow Dovo and it will tell you if you're using too much pressure while stropping. You'll hear it sing. If you do then lighten up.
