"I noticed I've never been able to cut them until I tried using the cutting angle described in the barber manuals, namely toe leading. Then they fell easily."

Please describe this angle more exactly, I want to make sure that I understand. Thanks.

Certainly, diagonally with tip leading. (Oh, since it's dry, unlubricated skin - I use a very light touch almost not touching the skin at all)

For reference, I've attached the "cutting angle" picture found in the manual

OK, I think I get it. You do the test with dry whiskers on your face, right? And you lead with the front of the blade holding the whole blade at about a 20-30 deg. angle relative to your skin, correct?

NO! HHT is done with a hair in your hand. Shave Test, which employs the cutting angle shown above, is done with full prep to your beard.

Alex, in the post you referenced from me I had refered to cutting the hairs on my arm. IN NO WAY - dry shave your face

    I'm dumb, not stupid

I went back to see my original post that he quoted. In context it was indeed about shaving arm hair.

You guys taught me better than that !!!!

What I look for is a "stickiness" and a change from the last time I tested.

Please, be careful with this test. You can slice yourself easily.

If tests like the HHT and TPT go well, you can move on to the shave. The first shave on any newly honed razor is considered a test, The Shave Test. Never dry shave your face. Trust me!
