Default Vintage French straight razor Malaingre-Staurenghi

    Hi Guys

Got this razor for $19 bucks on ebay. Anyone has experience with this razor?. I don't know much about it. Looks cool and the price was right. Any advice on blade and scale clean up would be appreciate it.

Looks pretty good IMO.As far as being shave worthy, get it honed and good to go. I'm not sure I would want to do much more than make sure the pins are tight, maybe apply something to the horn scales (neetsfoot(sp?) oil or something else) give it a rub down with MASS (or similar) and VIOLA!! a work of beauty.

    Thanks

I was also thinking of something simple. I was wondering if anyone here owns one. If it shaves well its great. Otherwise it was a small investment. Can MAAS be use of horn? I currently use it on blades.I am open to all response. Just having fun with it.

Can't go wrong with a frameback. Lat will sharpen nicely.
