Thanked: 2209These guys are being very polite! As usual!
The fact of the matter is that after 20 years there is no chance that your razor is sharp enough to shave you no matter how much stropping you do. Post a message requesting some honing assistance in this forum or in the "Hones" forum.
Some people will do it for free or a small fee.Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin

Well, today I'm off to get me a belt. I hope to find one at least... If I do, I'll get right on it with the razor
I think, in my very inexperienced mind, that it is sharp enough for stroping. When I tried the sharpnes on my wet thumb nail there were some drag. As far as I know that means it is pretty sharp. But as it failed the hair test it is not sharp enough for shaving. Am I getting it right?
The worst thing I could do is just to dull the razor, right? I won't destroy it, will I?
If I don't get it sharp enough with the belt I'll get someone to sharpen it for me. Probably not anyone outside of Sweden as the shipping will be to much ($32)...
I'll get back to you and let you know how it turns out. Thanks again for taking time to read my posts

The HHT is a fickle thing. Everyone has a different type of hair (or no hair at all).
My hair is very short, and my wife's hair is thin and curly. It is only usable if the edge is extremely sharp.
And to be honest, the only true test is the shave test.
I have an antique frameback that refuses to do the HHT even if I whack the hair on the razor several times.
But it gives me very smooth and comfortable shaves despite failing the HHT.

Well, no belt strop for me. The outlet store where I planed to get one just didn't have them anymore...
So now I'm at a loss to what to do. Either I get some leather from a local store here in Stockholm, or get a shoemaker to do it for me, or buy one from one of the guys here and try to ignore the extra shipping cost...
I'll have a look in the strop forum for some hints on what leather to use and so forth I'll get back to you when I've decided what to do

Thanked: 369I think there is little chance of destroying your razor just by stropping on a leather belt...unless the belt has metal studs attached to it...

Thank you Puff. I include these with each #1 Best whether for a newbie or old hand. While I don't sell them separately I'm glad those who don't need them share with those starting out.
