That's the same DOVO that I bought. I really love mine. I hope you enjoy yours.

Yes, DOVO "Palisander" 6/8", which I think is exclusive to The Superior Shave. Though really it is just a bit of a variation on the Bismark and Flowing.

Thank-you for activating my RAD...that's a really nice looking blade, I have a Bismarck, seen the Flowing, but the one you has a really unique look...congratulations!

I noticed in your original post you were interested in Mitchells Wool Fat. I didn't see Mitchells on the Superiorshave site. What soaps did you end up with?

Finally ordered the items shown at my previous message. I did make a little mistake tho; Alum block and styptic pencils were not on that list, so I forgot to order them. I hope I can add them in to the order so I don't have to pay shipment fees twice.

Oh and I wanted to ask what kind of a treatment does a straight razor need if it has been professionally honed, but not used for 2-3 weeks?

    Hello again!

All the previously mentioned items arrived today. I ordered the items last friday from The Stats and Ireland, but I forgot two items from the order I made from the shaving.ie so they earliest they could ship it was tuesday due to the fact I had to fill in the items to the order. So it took 7 days for the items to arrive from The States and three from Ireland.

I am soon to have my first shave, and in all honesty I have to say I am rather intimidated. Well atleast I have had some time to let it sink in as the razor came three weeks ago or so, and I only get to shave now.

    I am going to do the following;

    1. Put the brush to soak in to hot water
    2. Put little hot water over MWF soap.
    3. Take a long hot bath and soak my beard underneat the water.
    4. Wipe the oils off the razor
    5. Gently "strop" the razor against toilet paper to get the oil of the edge.
    6. Make my self lather in a bowl using Musgo Real + MWF + 4 drops of glycerin.
    7. Lather up
    8. Start shaving from the dominate hand side and see how it goes.
    9. If it feels I am about to f-up my face, stop there and finish off with Mach 3.
    10. Wash my face.
    11. Apply styptic pencil / alumn block on nicks / cuts
    12. Apply alumn block on my neck area (Which is very sensitive).

I think that pretty much covers it for the first shave, do tell me if I got something wrong.

Great choices. I would get a paddle strop to start though. I didn't and got one very quickly as I was rolling my edges. Get the premium but use the paddle for a short time until you get the flip down. Not trying to override anybody here, just my experience.
